(3) Development of the facility for dynamical structural analysis
A research for dynamical structural imaging utilizing the X-ray pulse from the Synchrotron (SR) is quite useful. Our team developed the specialized beamline for 100ps time-resolved structural imaging (diffraction and X-ray absorption (XAS)) at the SR facility in Tsukuba area (KEK-PF-AR; beamline NW14A) based on JST, ERATO(2003-2008) project. This beam line (see Fig.4) is unique and powerful tool for probing the structural dynamics in atomic scale with 100ps time-resolution by virtu of the combined fs laser system synchronized with X-ray pulses from SR facility. This beam line is now under control of KEK and opened for social use. Our team is expanding the use of this beamline for various fields of materials science and also expanding the time scale into fs under the collaboration (domestic and international) with various facilities.
